Pitcures Of Kimberly Bregalis

Porta Coeli. The Order of St. Ceclina

Let
outlining.

"Porta Coeli" Susana Vallejo was another gift from my wise kings. I was afraid to disappoint me as much as he did in his time, "Memoirs of IdhĂșn" (not I link this review because I do not recognize myself in it ...) but fortunately we're talking different leagues.

"Porta Coeli" is a tetralogy whose first installment is "Santa Ceclina order." It tells the fantastic story of the Order of St. Ceclina, whose monastery treasures a book banned, the Porta Coeli , which will allow players to find explanation for the occurrences of fantastic creatures have begun to rise ...

Among his successes, there is a sustained pace cleverly, correct prose, clear, simple, upon which walks the reader goes back and carried away by the hand of history. At no time decays interest through which information is dispensed wisely and scenes unfold quickly. The plot is impeccable, the end is extracted from it without trickery or deception and surprise the reader without being frightened. A round and very funny book.

Another added value is that the story takes place on English soil, the context is pleasantly familiar. A risk taken forcefully by the author, to distance the reader of his prejudices, carried out with skill and without complexes. One move more to this book.

Without being a general blunder, its main weakness is in the construction of the characters. The omniscient narrator who gives the right tone to this tale of adventure and travel, sometimes becomes too introspective and reveals feelings and thoughts on a few characters unconvincing. For example and most importantly, Bernardo, one of the protagonists, is not credible on their emotions and just move from petulant to cheesy without intermediate stages. The Yebra relationship with another character, goes on a credible, extremely naive and stereotypical. At times when describing the interactions between these two characters, you remember reading a children's book, which is not necessarily the case in the rest of the book.

The strengths outweigh the weaknesses in any case, being a story more than worthy and above all fun. Recommended reading for older children and young people with imagination. Someday I will make the next three deliveries to moving forward as many good times.
