Can My Dog Get Impetigo From Me

For Clemente Colling times

One of my New Year's resolutions is to recover the reviews of this blog. This is not an easy goal but I want to do this little effort. I also want to "get my fingers burnt" in the long review more than what I've done so far. The reason is simple: the more you learn about writing is to read carefully. So the mess ...

"By the time of Clemente Colling" in Felisberto Hernández was a successful Christmas present I arrived a little early so you could take holidays in their reading. I know no Felisberto works for now, but this will change from here a few weeks because their Majesties have graciously give me more reading material. Of time and input, it is considered by some the best work of Felisberto, is an exquisite story. The purpose of speech is a complex comeback by the ravings of memory, remembrance hiperesthetic a childhood, the reconstruction of memories that light now with the maturity of the protagonist.

seems to be autobiographical memories dotted side, the narrator protagonist, Felisberto, says his relationship with the music, the thread of this in your memories and above all, build and destroy in an infinite loop the character to be his teacher piano, Clemente Colling.

Almost immediately, the tenderness, the delicacy, the battle against oblivion, the work is inevitably reminiscent of Proust. It seems that French was among the favorite reading of the author and his influence is evident. The speech, however, is more avant-garde forms that of Proust, but without reaching the tattered monologue of Joyce, it goes into the vagaries of our most intimate thoughts and ventures into the collage of memories associated with each other without apparent logic. In addition, there are passages, like the description of the long-lived, his stuffed parrot, etc. that are hospitalized, even superficially, in magic realism which collect witness Gabriel García Márquez and others. He said he did admire and Cortázar, although the latter's influence seems to move more in terms of form: in the construction of a seemingly careless language in which not a single word can removed without dropping the house of cards.

is also interesting to know the biography of Felisberto Hernández , unknowingly married a KGB spy who attained more fame and honor that her innocent husband. A fictionalized life worth.

A convenient and useful reading, away from my interest in the background but not in form. Recommended for lovers of the delicacy and finesse.

"a writer who does not look like anyone, to any of the Europeans and Latin Americans either, is a sniper that defies classification and every frame, but comes as unmistakable to open its pages"
Italo Calvino
